Dutch Oven Bread

I was introduced to bread making when a friend made some really yummy crusty bread at a potluck. I had never dabbled in bread making before and was interested in replicating her recipe. It's a super easy, no nonsense process.

Prep Time: 1 hour

Serves 4-5 ppl

Ingredients

Flour- 3 cups (I use a mix of all purpose and wheat flour)

Salt  -  2tsp

Active Dry Yeast - 1tsp

Water - 1 1/2 cup (warm)

Directions:

1. In a large mixing bowl whisk flour, salt and yeast. Pour in warm water with a wooden ladle to stir until a dough is shaggy, wet and sticky. Cover it with a plastic wrap and let it sit for 12-18 hours.

2. Heat oven in 450°F. Once oven is pre-heated place your covered dutch oven for 30 minutes before baking.

3. Punch down dough and sprinkle flour on a parchment paper and with floured hands shape dough into a ball, lace in parchment paper, sprinkle a bit of four over it and lightly cut a design with a knife. Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes.

5. Place dough inside dutch over and cover and let it bake for 30 minutes. Open cover and let it back for another 10-15 minutes until bread is warm brown. Cool slightly before slicing.
